The Hanseatic League 2.0
Today we will be talking about the effect that Brexit has on the Hanseatic League. Many of the medium to smaller countries are starting to realize that they need to make their voices heard in response to the recent departure. There are arguments for the UK both leaving and staying, but when involved in the EU the UK was more liberal in their approach, and pushed for more trade between countries, and those trying to liberalize trade in the EU will find it harder without them. Thus the Hanseatic League and others might have a more difficult time trading. While the departure of the UK will hurt the EU, due to the leader role that the country held. The remaining EU countries do have similar economic goals, including dynamic competition on a single market, and the need for national budgetary responsibility within the EU. With such a major power in the EU leaving it will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

Is the impact on the Hanseatic League an argument and therefore a thesis or are there already numbers published on the impact? Which part will be affected most?
ReplyDeleteBrexit has been a major topic within a couple of these blogs - How do you think this will play out with the UK leaving? Do you think it was the right choice?
ReplyDeleteAddie, the question whether the Brexit was the right choice is on almost everyone's mind right now I guess. I am sure, this is such a complex question, that a definite answer can not be given until the whole impact of the Brexit has already occurred. Taking into consideration, what new information is recovered all the time (the BREXIT blog gives good examples), my personal opinion is, that it was definitely a decision, that was rushed in its whole decision making progress way too much.
DeleteWhen you are thinking about this sort of thing. So you really anticipate the UK leaving based on the benefits and disadvantages. If so how do you think this would effect the EU?
